About The Position

Splunk, a Cisco company, is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Solutions Engineer to join our Manufacturing vertical. This role serves as a trusted technical advisor, helping our manufacturing customers harness the power of data to drive digital transformation and operational resilience. Focus on empowering global manufacturing leaders to secure their digital infrastructure and ensure peak performance through sophisticated Security (SIEM/SOAR) and Observability (APM/Infrastructure Monitoring) strategies. The ideal candidate is a consultative expert who can translate complex technical telemetry into high-impact business outcomes.

Requirements

• 5 to 7 years shown experience in Pre-Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or Technical Consulting.
• Deep understanding of modern security frameworks (SIEM, SOAR, threat detection) and/or observability principles (APM, infrastructure monitoring, digital experience monitoring).
• Ability to translate sophisticated technical concepts into clear business value for executive-level stakeholders.
• Experience working with large-scale data platforms or log management solutions; Splunk certification or equivalent platform expertise is highly preferred.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to lead technical workshops and whiteboard sessions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with cloud-native monitoring and security platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Knowledge of modern application architectures, including microservices, containers, and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in data modeling, scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Bash), and API integration.
• Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards relevant to enterprise IT.
• Previous experience working within a global manufacturing organization or a specialized software provider serving the manufacturing industry.
• Ability to travel to customer sites to conduct on-site assessments and strategic planning sessions.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical lead during the sales cycle, conducting high-level discovery sessions to understand the unique cybersecurity and performance challenges of manufacturing clients.
• Design and architect robust Splunk deployments that aggregate data from enterprise IT environments, cloud architectures, and digital business systems to provide unified visibility.
• Develop and deliver customized product demonstrations and Proof of Concept engagements that highlight the value of real-time threat detection, incident response automation, and full-stack observability.
• Partner with Account Executives, Product Management, and Professional Services teams to align Splunk’s capabilities with the digital roadmap requirements of the manufacturing sector.
• Present at industry conferences and internal forums on the importance of cyber resilience, modern observability, and the role of data analytics in digital transformation.
• Build reusable technical assets, white papers, and demo environments tailored to enterprise security and observability use cases.
