About The Position

Kempower is seeking a Solutions Engineer to act as the pre-sales technical expert for North American infrastructure clients. This role involves partnering with the Sales Team to answer in-depth engineering questions from prospective customers, demonstrating how Kempower’s dynamic power-sharing architecture addresses their specific power constraints, and removing technical obstacles to sales closure. The Solutions Engineer will be the primary technical point of contact for EV charging inquiries, ensuring customers select the appropriate Kempower hardware for their infrastructure needs. They will also lead technical responses for RFIs and RFPs, providing detailed, solutions-based documentation, and educate customers on product features, benefits, and architecture capabilities. Additionally, this role requires collaboration with local and global Sales, Engineering, and Product Management teams to maintain technical guides and relay critical field feedback.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 3+ years in electrical infrastructure or deployment
  • Proficient at interpreting electrical site plans and single-line diagrams (SLDs) to advise on charger placement and connection.
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical codes (NEC, IEC) and EV-specific standards like CCS, NACS, and OCPP.
  • Ability to translate complex charger specs into clear, customer-friendly solutions without losing technical accuracy.
  • Willingness to travel ~20-30% domestically with occasional international travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience in the EV, Automotive, or BESS/Microgrid industries.
  • Familiarity with emerging standards like MCS or power systems modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for EV charging inquiries, ensuring customers choose the right Kempower hardware for their specific infrastructure.
  • Drive technical responses for RFIs and RFPs, providing detailed, solutions-based documentation that proves our technology’s value.
  • Educate customers on product features, benefits, and architecture capabilities to solve their technical deployment challenges.
  • Collaborate with local and global Sales, Engineering and Product Management teams to maintain up-to-date technical guides and share critical field feedback.
