Pre Sales Solutions Engineer

Greenlight ConsultingToronto, ON
CA$100,000 - CA$120,000Hybrid

About The Position

Greenlight helps organizations solve complex business challenges through intelligent automation, agentic AI, and custom technology solutions. Our teams work directly with clients to understand their operations, identify opportunities, and rapidly build solutions that create measurable business value. We combine deep consulting expertise with hands-on engineering to bridge the gap between strategy and execution. We're building a future where consultants and engineers work alongside AI to deliver faster outcomes, stronger businesses, and transformative customer experiences. This is a high-impact, revenue-influencing role at the intersection of technical solutioning and client advisory. The Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer partners with Sales across the full sales cycle, from first discovery call through to signed contract, owning the technical and solution credibility that turns interest into commitment. You will work across both organisations new to automation and mature enterprises with established programs and sophisticated technical evaluators. You need to be equally effective advising a CFO on the business case for AI-powered automation and walking an IT architect through a solution design. You will build demos, design architectures, contribute to proposals and RFPs, and produce client-ready materials, often under tight timelines, often across multiple active opportunities simultaneously. This role has a direct line to Greenlight’s growth. The deals you support, the architectures you design, and the accelerators you build compound over time into a competitive advantage that the delivery team inherits on every project.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years in a pre-sales, solutions engineering, technical consulting, or automation architecture role — with direct experience supporting or leading sales cycles
  • Hands-on UiPath experience — Studio, Orchestrator, and at least one of: Document Understanding, AI Centre, Process Mining, or Communications Mining
  • Demonstrated experience designing or implementing RPA and intelligent automation solutions in enterprise environments — multi-system, complex integrations, real-world constraints
  • Proven ability to build credible demos and POCs under time pressure — not polished internal prototypes, but client-facing proof points that influence buying decisions
  • Experience advising and facilitating sessions with senior, technically mature stakeholders — IT architects, CTOs, operational leaders
  • Technical depth with commercial instinct — you design solutions that are architecturally sound and commercially winnable at the same time
  • Fast under pressure — sales cycles don’t wait; you turn around quality work quickly without cutting corners on credibility
  • Strong communicator across audiences — you adjust depth and language fluidly between a developer, an architect, and a CFO in the same meeting
  • AI-forward — you understand how LLMs behave, where agentic automation creates real value, and how to make that case to a buyer who may be skeptical
  • Highly organised across multiple parallel opportunities — you manage competing priorities without losing thread or responsiveness
  • Travel-ready — client sites, workshops, and onsite POC sessions are a regular part of the role
  • UiPath Studio and Orchestrator — proficient across design, development, and deployment
  • Anthropic Claude API or OpenAI API — agent workflows, tool use, structured outputs, prompt design
  • Automation architecture patterns — REFramework, exception handling, queue-based processing, scalable design
  • REST API integration — authentication, payload management, error handling
  • Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) — awareness and ability to position alongside or against UiPath
  • PowerPoint and data visualisation — executive-quality decks produced independently, not handed to a designer

Nice To Haves

  • UiPath certifications — Advanced Developer, Solution Architect, or equivalent
  • Anthropic or other LLM platform certifications or formal AI engineering training
  • Experience contributing to thought leadership — blogs, whitepapers, client-facing insights, conference presentations
  • Background in a consulting, managed services, or systems integrator environment — boutique preferred
  • Exposure to automation CoE frameworks, enterprise governance models, or BotOps delivery structures

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical discovery sessions with prospective clients uncovering automation opportunities, understanding the technical landscape, and identifying the right solution approach before a line of architecture is drawn
  • Design end-to-end UiPath and agentic automation architectures tailored to each opportunity (diagrams, assumptions, integration points, exception handling, and scalability considerations) defensible with both business and IT stakeholders
  • Advise clients on automation maturity and evolution, helping organisations at all stages understand where AI-powered and agentic automation fits into their roadmap and why it matters now
  • Build and deliver tailored demos and proofs-of-concept that validate feasibility, showcase Greenlight’s capability, and de-risk the decision for the buyer - often under compressed timelines
  • Design and run advisory sessions with technically mature buyers - facilitating structured conversations that move them from evaluation to conviction
  • Produce written client readouts from discovery sessions and POCs - findings, risks, recommended paths forward, written to an executive standard and delivered with speed
  • Articulate automation and AI value to both business and IT stakeholders - ROI, scalability, implementation risk, and total cost of ownership - in the language that each audience needs to hear
  • Own the technical response on RFPs and proposals: solution approach, architecture, assumptions, dependencies, and input to effort estimates and pricing
  • Contribute to executive-ready presentation decks: solution overviews, value narratives, roadmaps, and next steps - produced quickly and precisely calibrated to the audience and deal stage
  • Partner with the Automation Business Consultant and delivery team to ensure pre-sales commitments are grounded in what delivery can actually execute - you are the check that keeps scope credible before a contract is signed
  • Shape Greenlight’s solution narrative in competitive situations - understanding how our approach differentiates and making that case with evidence, not just positioning
  • Design, build, and continuously refine reusable automation accelerators: UiPath components, demo frameworks, reference architectures, and POV materials - that shorten sales cycles and improve delivery consistency
  • Contribute to thought leadership: client-facing insights, solution briefs, and capability narratives that build Greenlight’s profile in the market
  • Feed delivery insights back into the pre-sales process - what is harder to build than it looked in the demo, what client assumptions need resetting early, what accelerators would have changed the outcome
  • Stay ahead of the UiPath and Anthropic partner ecosystem - new capabilities, certifications, and go-to-market resources that strengthen Greenlight’s positioning
