About The Position

The Solutions Architect is responsible for developing and writing project proposals, creating and maintaining strategic business and personal relationships with customers, and participating in internal pursuit strategy and proposal reviews. This role also involves jointly developing strategic account and pursuit plans with Territory Managers and participating in internal project hand-offs with sales, customer support, and engineering. The Solutions Architect may be required to travel overnight more than 50% of the time.

Requirements

• BS Engineering preferred, other 4 year degrees can be acceptable based on qualifications.
• 10+ years of experience working in a process industry or manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Previous process automation engineering experience is also preferred.
• Competency with personal computers and software such as Microsoft Office.
• Competency with process control fundamentals and system design.
• Ability to learn and understand plant unit operations and associated economics, key performance indicators and their impacts, investment approval processes, etc.
• Ability to recognize and modify one’s own behavior style to respond to the needs of others, exhibit empathy and communicate with others in a manner that builds credibility and rapport.
• Ability to clearly present information through spoken and written word; influence or persuade others through oral presentation regardless of circumstances; effective listening.
• Maturely express feelings and opinions; high self-esteem; manage conflict, setbacks and failure successfully; business needs outweigh personal needs such as “being liked”, not emotionally involved in the sales process.
• Influence the actions and opinions of others to gain consensus or move in a desired direction; exhibit sound judgment, coaching and counseling.

Responsibilities

• Developing and writing project proposals for opportunities, including Emerson Products & Services and 3rd Party Products and Control Southern Services.
• Ensuring proposed deliverables meet customer needs, are accurate, and are financially sound for Control Southern.
• Creating and maintaining strategic business and personal relationships at existing and prospective customers.
• Participating in internal pursuit strategy and proposal reviews.
• Jointly developing strategic account and pursuit plans with Territory Managers.
• Participating in internal project hand-offs with sales, customer support, and engineering.
