About The Position

NOVO Health Services is seeking a Soiled Sorter at its Skokie facility. The role sorts soiled healthcare linen on a belt by item type and size, maintains quality standards for soil sorting and cart cleaning, and follows safety procedures. The position requires working in a noisy, fast-paced environment and meeting physical demands throughout a 10-hour shift.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and stack individual items from the machine for long periods.
• Demonstrated customer service and organization skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to meet the physical demands for the entire 10-hour shift, including standing, walking, reaching overhead, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting 50 pounds or more, and stooping.

Nice To Haves

• High school education, GED, or formal education/training.
• One to two years of experience in healthcare, manufacturing, or a similar industry.

Responsibilities

• Sort large pieces, including bath blankets, flat sheets, draw sheets, and thermals.
• Sort underpants, patient gowns, and fitted sheets.
• Sort other items, including bath towels, washcloths, hand towels, and scrubs.
• Adhere to quality standards for soil sorting and cart cleaning.
• Understand, observe, and follow all safety procedures and policies.
• Assist with and perform other duties as assigned.
