About The Position

NOVO Health Services is seeking a Soiled Sorter for its Skokie facility. NOVO provides linen management solutions to the healthcare industry, with a focus on safety, infection control, and efficient linen utilization. The role involves sorting soiled laundry on a belt, maintaining quality standards for soil sorting and cart cleaning, and following safety procedures. The work takes place in a noisy, fast-paced environment and requires meeting physical demands throughout a 10-hour shift. Pay starts at $17 per hour.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and stack individual items from the machine for long periods.
• Demonstrated customer service and organization skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to meet physical demands for the entire 10-hour shift, including reaching overhead, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting 50 pounds or more, and stooping.

Nice To Haves

• High school education, GED, or formal education/training.
• One to two years of experience in healthcare, manufacturing, or a similarly situated industry.

Responsibilities

• Sort large items such as bath blankets, flat sheets, draw sheets, and thermals.
• Sort medium-sized items such as underpants, patient gowns, and fitted sheets.
• Sort remaining items such as bath towels, washcloths, hand towels, and scrubs.
• Adhere to quality standards for soil sorting and cart cleaning.
• Understand, observe, and follow safety procedures and policies.
• Assist with and perform other duties as assigned.
