Software Quality Assurance Intern

HP•San Francisco, CA

About The Position

HP IQ's Product Integrity & Developer Productivity team builds tools and systems to improve developer productivity and product quality at scale, with a focus on agentic systems that automate workflows such as JIRA triage, root-cause analysis, test planning, and quality automation. The intern will work with the hiring manager and team to design, build, and deploy agents that use pre-trained machine learning models to address real problems for developers and quality engineers. The intern will contribute to engineering projects exploring how AI can improve software development, testing, and maintenance. Work may include designing AI-powered tools and workflows, developing systems that automate development and quality processes, prototyping and evaluating LLM and agentic AI approaches, collaborating across functions, participating in technical design and code reviews, and building and testing production-quality software. The intern will also present work and share technical learnings. The program is scheduled for May/June through August/September 2027, with final dates based on student schedules. Hourly pay is $40.00–$50.00; actual compensation depends on skills, qualifications, and experience.
