Software Engineering Intern (Summer 2027)
About The Position
Viam is seeking students studying computer science or related fields to collaborate with full-time engineers on building out the software for their robotics engineering platform. The platform allows users to configure, control, and manage robots intuitively and quickly. The internship involves working across the stack on robotics and cloud computing problems, using state-of-the-art technologies, learning engineering best practices, and testing software with robotics hardware. Interns will be fully integrated with the engineering organization, assigned to a specific team with a mentor, and will work with a tech stack including Golang, ES.Next/TypeScript/Svelte/Vue.js, Linux, and MongoDB.
Requirements
- In the process of receiving a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or related field, with at least one additional term after the end of the internship
- Available to intern in person at our New York City office for 10-12 weeks during the summer of 2027
- Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals including algorithms, data structures, architecture and/or robotics
- Experience with various programming languages
