As a Distinguished Software Engineer at Walmart, you will lead the design and delivery of scalable, cloud-native AI-powered systems, ensuring architectural integrity and operational excellence. Members define success metrics, conduct experiments, and build predictive and causal solutions that deliver measurable impact. Requirements

Proven expertise in designing and building scalable, cloud-native software systems and AI-powered agents.
Strong technical leadership with experience owning system-level execution and aligning architecture with domain strategy.
Deep knowledge of reliability engineering, operational due diligence, and continuous integration/deployment practices.
Ability to drive operational excellence through code reviews, incident analysis, and automation of manual processes.
Skilled in mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of high standards, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills to engage cross-functional teams and stakeholders effectively.
Sound technical judgment with agility to adapt to evolving technologies and business needs.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
8 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
Knowledge of accessibility best practices and joining in creating accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

Champion DevOps and CI/CD practices to maintain operational readiness, observability, and performance of services.

Mentor engineers across teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high standards in software delivery.
Identify and resolve architectural bottlenecks, automating processes to enhance engineering velocity and system scalability.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.
