About The Position

WeRide is a leading global commercial-stage company developing autonomous driving technologies from Level 2 to Level 4. Established in 2017, it is the world's first publicly listed autonomous vehicle (AV) company with a business footprint spanning over 60 cities across 13 countries. The company provides autonomous driving products and services through its WeRide One platform, catering to mobility, logistics, and urban services. The AI team focuses on developing CV/ML algorithms for real-time understanding of the ego vehicle's surroundings, including obstacle detection, online mapping, and scene understanding. This perception system processes multi-sensor inputs over time to provide obstacle-level and scene-level understandings for downstream modules like prediction and planning.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field, with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027.
  • Strong programming experience in C++ or Python.
  • Experienced in one or more of the following areas: machine learning, robotics, computer vision, data mining, LiDAR.
  • Knowledgeable in data structures, 3D geometry, and advanced algorithms.
  • Solid foundation in core robotics principles, including state estimation, 3D reconstruction, and visual odometry.
  • Excellent software and computing fundamentals.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Large Language Models (LLM) or Vision Language Models (VLM)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy cutting-edge perception and deep learning models, including computer vision models, vision-language and large language models (VLMs and LLMs), for real-time integration into our system.
  • Create and optimize data pipelines for data mining, labeling, training, and evaluation, supporting comprehensive onboard development.
  • Conduct advanced research in perception algorithms to address complex, real-world scenarios, focusing on areas like object detection, segmentation, road understanding, and motion prediction.
  • Leverage multi-modal sensor fusion techniques to build robust architectures tailored for autonomous driving.
