About The Position

As a Senior Consultant, Software Engineer III, AI & Engineering on Deloitte’s Engineering as a Service team, you will design, build, and deliver full-stack software and AI-enabled solutions for client engagements. The role focuses on developing scalable software and production agentic AI systems using Anthropic Claude, working with large organizations to build autonomous, multi-agent solutions responsibly and at scale. Work includes full-stack development, cloud-native services, generative AI integrations, and end-to-end feature delivery, from gathering requirements through deployment and monitoring. The team provides design, implementation, and technology operations, modernizes technology platforms, and uses flexible delivery models tailored to client needs. Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on full-stack development, including 3+ years of full system lifecycle development from requirements through production deployment.
• 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and delivering AI/ML solutions.
• At least 1 year of direct experience designing or implementing production agentic workflows involving capabilities such as orchestration, tool integration, state management, evaluation, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop controls.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience developing agentic AI solutions using Claude Agent SDK, including agent orchestration, tool integration, permissions, or MCP integrations.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience developing and deploying production solutions using Anthropic Claude models.
• At least 1 year of experience applying prompt engineering, context engineering, structured outputs, and related techniques to improve AI solution performance, reliability, and usability.
• 1+ years of experience leading project workstreams or engagements, translating business problems into AI solutions, and delivering measurable outcomes.
• 4+ years of hands-on full-stack development using at least one back-end language such as Python, Java, .NET, Go, or Node.js and at least one modern front-end framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• 4+ years of experience in a client-facing development role, including 2+ years building and consuming REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• One year of hands-on experience integrating Anthropic Claude APIs into software applications in a commercial setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or another technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively; communicate effectively in writing and verbally; attend to detail and quality; build professional relationships; lead projects or workstreams; manage and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment; meet deadlines; and provide clear guidance to others.
• Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on the work performed and clients and industries served.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement scalable full-stack features across front-end and back-end systems.
• Design and operationalize RESTful and asynchronous APIs on cloud-native infrastructure, including containerized workloads, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex features from requirements gathering through deployment and monitoring.
• Integrate large language model platforms and generative AI APIs, including Anthropic Claude, to deliver context-aware features, retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, tool-calling workflows, and automation solutions.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions, estimate work, and contribute to code reviews.
• Troubleshoot defects, improve application performance, write automated tests, and support production readiness, including incident response and on-call rotations.
• Lead project workstreams or engagements, translate business problems into AI solutions, and deliver measurable outcomes.
• Travel an average of 50%, based on assigned work and clients or industries served.
