The Software Engineer II on Medtronic’s UI/UX team builds the application interfaces used by mapping specialists and electrophysiologists during Affera Prism cases. The role develops panels, controls, workflows, and interactions that make a complex medical system clear and usable in clinical settings. The engineer writes Qt/QML, Python, and C++ on Linux; implements designs provided by UX designers; and integrates the interface with data, signals, and visualization layers. The role includes pairing with experienced engineers, participating in design reviews, and delivering workflow improvements. The Affera Prism Mapping System is an electrophysiology platform used to diagnose and guide treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. It processes signals from the heart, creates real-time three-dimensional maps of cardiac anatomy and electrical activity, and presents that information during live procedures. Engineers on the team contribute to software spanning runtime and data pipelines, algorithms, visualization, and user interfaces. The position requires working onsite at least four days per week. Medtronic describes its compensation as competitive and offers benefits and resources intended to support employees at different career and life stages. The listed U.S. base salary range is $100,000–$150,000, and the position is eligible for the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
