CrowdStrike•Austin, TX
•$100,000 - $145,000•Hybrid

About The Position

CrowdStrike is hiring a Software Engineer II for its US-based LogScale engine team. The engineer will contribute to LogScale, an observability, log management, and security events application, by developing engine features and improving existing functionality in a highly distributed system that ingests petabytes of data per day through SaaS and on-premises offerings. The role involves complex engineering problems and offers the opportunity to build deep expertise in the LogScale engine and its broader architecture. The team owns its part of the LogScale experience from ideation and development through deployment and feedback. Engineers ensure quality through automated and manual testing, and monitor released features in production. The work focuses on scalable event ingestion and querying, cluster stability, query execution, Kafka-backed global data storage, and data replication and placement across nodes and bucket storage such as S3. The role is hybrid, with 2–3 days per week on-site at one of the posted locations, and may require periodic additional background and fingerprint checks consistent with government customer requirements.
