About The Position

CrowdStrike is hiring a software engineer for its US-based LogScale engine team. The role contributes to the LogScale application for observability, log management, and security events, focusing on developing new engine features and improving existing functionality in a highly distributed system that ingests petabytes of data per day through SaaS and on-premise offerings. The engineer will develop expertise in the LogScale engine and gain a broad understanding of its architecture. The team owns its part of the LogScale experience from ideation and development through deployment and feedback, including automated and manual testing and monitoring features in production. The work includes improving scalability, event ingestion and processing, query performance, and cluster stability. The team works on the query execution engine, Kafka-backed global data storage, and storage systems that manage data replication, node placement, and bucket storage such as S3. The role helps maintain durability and high availability and involves solving open-ended engineering problems in a collaborative, autonomous team. This is a hybrid role requiring 2–3 days per week on-site at one of the posted locations. The candidate may periodically need to undergo and pass additional background and fingerprint checks consistent with government customer requirements.
