Software Development Engineer II (hybrid)
About The Position
Northwest Administrators, Inc. is seeking a full stack software development engineer to build secure, high-quality, highly available software and reliable, scalable products. The role focuses on designing and developing application logic and data-driven systems, with particular emphasis on advanced T-SQL coding and efficient, optimized SQL. The engineer will develop and maintain proprietary desktop and web applications, balancing feature development with production support, and will use AI-assisted tools and Agentic AI patterns to improve coding, testing, debugging, automation, and data handling. The position works with Business Analysts on functional requirements, troubleshoots services across legacy and modern architectures, documents software and architecture, and participates in code reviews and walkthroughs. It follows a hybrid schedule requiring three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) in the Seattle office (Lake Union/Eastlake). Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, information systems, physics, or a related area.
- At least 6 years of relevant software design and development experience.
- Strong experience with .NET Core or modern .NET.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex problems.
- Proven process improvement and organizational skills.
- Experience with C#, .NET/.NET Core, T-SQL, modern web stacks including Blazor, Windows Platform Stack, JavaScript/TypeScript, WPF, and MVC.
- Strong T-SQL coding skills, including writing and troubleshooting complex queries and stored procedures.
- Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools and experience implementing Agentic AI frameworks, LLM integrations, or intelligent autonomous agents.
Nice To Haves
- Data visualization experience, such as Power BI.
- API development experience.
- Experience with frontend tools such as React JS or Angular.
- Mobile development experience.
Responsibilities
- Build high-performance, highly available, and reliable software.
- Develop complex components, modules, and scripts using .NET technologies.
- Design, build, and maintain proprietary desktop and web-based applications while balancing feature development with production support.
- Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, improve test coverage, and streamline debugging workflows.
- Architect and implement Agentic AI patterns and workflows to improve automation, process efficiency, and intelligent data handling.
- Debug and troubleshoot the complete stack of services and identify root causes of production issues in legacy and modern architectures.
- Partner with Business Analysts who define and document functional requirements for user-requested applications or projects.
- Thoroughly document software components and architecture for ongoing support, maintenance, and team collaboration.
- Conduct code walkthroughs and reviews to maintain software quality.
