About The Position

CLEAR is hiring a full-stack software engineer to build the next generation of its secure identity platform. The role involves owning complex technical problems from design through deployment and collaborating with Product, Design, Security, Operations, and other teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions. Engineers will be matched to a team across CLEAR’s Core Identity, CLEAR1, or CLEAR Travel pillars toward the end of the interview process. The tech stack overview includes Java, React, and TypeScript. The engineer will take projects from technical discovery and architecture through implementation, rollout, and operational support. The role also contributes to architectural decisions and ongoing improvements to the platform’s reliability, performance, security, scalability, maintainability, testing, observability, and developer experience.

Requirements

At least 3 years of professional full-stack software engineering experience building production applications using technologies such as Python, React, and TypeScript.
Strong technical fundamentals across distributed systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and modern software architecture.
Experience building and operating cloud-native applications using AWS and technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
Demonstrated experience owning complex, cross-functional projects and driving them from idea to production.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Comfort working in ambiguous environments, making thoughtful tradeoffs, and independently driving work forward.
Collaborative mindset and interest in improving engineering practices and building products with measurable customer and business impact.

Responsibilities

Design, build, test, and deploy scalable full-stack applications that power CLEAR’s identity platform.
Own projects end-to-end, from technical discovery and architecture through implementation, rollout, and operational support.
Partner with Product, Design, Data, Security, and Operations to turn business problems into simple, scalable technical solutions.
Improve system reliability, performance, testing, observability, and developer experience.
Contribute to architectural decisions and improve platform scalability, security, and maintainability.
Collaborate through code reviews, technical discussions, and sharing engineering best practices.
