Software Engineer I
About The Position
At Bank of America, the Software Engineer I develops and delivers complex requirements to accomplish business goals. The role ensures software meets functional and non-functional requirements, codes solutions, and performs unit testing, with an awareness of industry development practices. The position is based at the Villa Park Operations Center in Richmond, Virginia, and follows a first-shift schedule of 40 hours per week. The role is open to current Year Up interns with Bank of America. Compensation is $26.84–$49.10 per hour, with offers determined by experience, education, and skill set. The position is benefits eligible and includes access to paid time off and employee support resources. It is not incentive eligible.
Requirements
- Must be a current Year Up intern with Bank of America.
- Skills in application development, automation, collaboration, DevOps practices, solution design, Agile practices, architecture, result orientation, solution delivery processes, user experience design, analytical thinking, data management, risk management, technical strategy development, and test engineering.
Responsibilities
- Code solutions and perform unit tests to deliver requirements or stories according to defined acceptance criteria.
- Execute automated integration, regression, and performance test suites; collect results and flag issues.
- Document and communicate information required for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality.
- Follow the team’s delivery and release process and cadence for code deployment and release.
- Contribute to story refinement and requirements definition.
