About The Position

Atomic Vest is seeking a lead front-end engineer to own partner-facing web products end to end, from design handoff through release. The role works closely with product, design, and backend engineers, shaping both what the team builds and how it is built. The position calls for a self-starter comfortable with broad ownership and work beyond a narrow job description. The engineer will build and maintain an embeddable, white-label onboarding module that fintech partners use to open individual and business brokerage accounts. Its workflows include multi-step business applications, adding and verifying owners and signers, and identity and compliance checks. A single codebase supports multiple applications and partner-specific builds. The role also owns a partner dashboard for managing customer accounts, including positions, statements, reporting, joint and advisory account details, and settings. Additional work includes creating self-service tools that reduce manual operations, rebuilding business-account flows against a new API and data model in coordination with backend engineers, and keeping two codebases healthy and their dependencies current. The frontend stack includes TypeScript, React, Vite, Tailwind CSS, Radix UI, React Aria, Storybook, React Hook Form, Zod, and SWR. The server-side layer uses Node.js with Koa, gRPC, and Postgres. Integrations include Plaid, Persona, Auth0, and LaunchDarkly. Atomic is remote-first; this role is fully remote, with candidates required to be based in Canada or Latin America in the Americas time zone (GMT-4 to GMT-8).

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience building production web applications with React and TypeScript.
  • Experience building complex, multi-step forms and data-heavy screens, including careful validation, edge cases, and error states.
  • Experience working in the Node.js server layer behind web applications; the posting names Koa, gRPC, and Postgres.
  • Ability to agree on API contracts with backend engineers and raise concerns when APIs make the UI difficult to build.
  • Ability to work directly with product and design, translating Figma designs and product tickets into shipped features.
  • Ability to own a release process from preview environments through UAT to production.
  • Product-oriented approach that considers user experience and business problems, and willingness to propose better approaches.
  • Self-motivated and independent, able to identify and pursue important work without waiting for direction.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and taking on varied work in a small team.
  • Must be based in Canada or Latin America in the Americas time zone (GMT-4 to GMT-8).

Nice To Haves

  • Fintech, brokerage, or banking experience, especially with account onboarding involving identity and compliance checks.
  • Experience building white-label or embeddable products for B2B customers.
  • Experience integrating fintech SDKs such as Plaid or Persona, or e-signature tools.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code.

Responsibilities

  • Own partner-facing web products end to end, from design handoff through release.
  • Build and maintain the embeddable onboarding module for individual and business brokerage accounts, including application flows, owner and signer verification, and identity and compliance checks.
  • Build and maintain the partner dashboard for viewing and managing customer accounts, reporting, account details, and settings.
  • Develop self-service features that reduce manual operations work, such as editing business details or adding participants to existing accounts.
  • Rebuild business-account flows to work with a new API and data model in coordination with backend engineers.
  • Maintain two codebases and bring the onboarding module’s dependencies up to date with the dashboard’s.
  • Work in the Node.js server layer behind the web applications, including Koa, gRPC, and Postgres.
  • Agree on API contracts with backend engineers and advocate for APIs that support effective user interfaces.
  • Collaborate directly with product and design to turn Figma designs and product tickets into shipped features.
  • Own the release process from preview environments through UAT to production.
  • Identify important work independently, propose better approaches, and contribute outside the core area when needed.
