Software Engineer, Customer Studio Backend

Hightouch is seeking a product-minded backend engineer to join their team and contribute to the growth of their Customer Studio product. This role involves working on backend and distributed systems, focusing on architecture, scalability, maintainability, and reliability. The ideal candidate should have strong customer and product thinking skills, as well as the ability to engage with product specifications. The team will be tackling challenges related to data warehouse performance, analytics and experimentation, real-time audience syncing, and generative AI to enhance the user experience.

• Building upon Reverse ETL's ability to use SQL to sync data to any SaaS tool
• Developing and maintaining a purpose-built no-code suite of features for Customer Studio
• Diving deep into backend and distributed systems
• Thinking holistically about architecture, scalability, maintainability, and reliability
• Writing and engaging with product specs
• Optimizing data warehouse performance in terms of speed, performance, and interactivity
• Exploring optimizations for queries and storing pre-computed state
• Investigating warehouse-specific improvements
• Helping customers build segments and decide what data to sync
• Facilitating experimentation to downstream tools and tracking audience performance
• Exploring real-time audience computation and syncing as warehouses become more real-time
• Working on enhancing user workflows through generative AI

• Strong backend and distributed systems experience

• Experience with data warehouse performance optimization
• Knowledge of analytics and experimentation for building segments and syncing data
