About the position
Revel Systems is seeking a senior software engineer to join their Payments squad, a newly created group of developers. This role involves writing structured and performant code in Kotlin, integrating features with in-house and third-party software, and working with physical devices that communicate with the application. The engineer will also be responsible for reviewing code, leading technical discussions, and providing feedback to the product owner. This is a great opportunity to enter or further explore the FinTech industry and gain in-depth knowledge of payment processing.
Responsibilities
- Writing structured, performant, and testable code in Kotlin while following Agile practices
- Rewriting existing Java code in Kotlin if needed
- Integrating features with in-house built software as well as with third-party software using provided interfaces and SDKs
- Working with physical devices that communicate with the application
- Reviewing code and leading technical discussions
- Providing technically sound feedback to product owners regarding existing and new features
Requirements
- Experience in writing structured, performant, and testable code in Kotlin
- Ability to rewrite existing Java code in Kotlin
- Familiarity with integrating features with in-house built software and third-party software using provided interfaces and SDKs
- Experience working with physical devices that communicate with applications
- Ability to review code and lead technical discussions
- Strong communication skills to provide technically sound feedback to product owners regarding existing and new features
