About The Position

Zillow’s nine-week summer internship program runs from June through August and gives students the opportunity to contribute to real business projects alongside Zillow teams. Interns gain hands-on experience, connect with mentors and leaders, and participate in learning and community experiences with their intern cohort. The 2027 internships are based in Seattle and follow a hybrid schedule, with interns generally working together in person Tuesday through Thursday. Eligible interns may receive a stipend to help offset summer housing relocation costs.

As a Software Development Engineer Intern at Zillow Group, you will work with product-focused teammates and receive mentoring from fellow developers while gaining experience across multiple functional areas. You will work on real problems and ship code, with opportunities to own sophisticated problems and shape your career path.

Requirements

• Currently working toward a BS or MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Strong coding knowledge, preferably in Java, Python, C++, JavaScript, and/or other languages.
• Ability to clearly articulate technical challenges and solutions.
• Ability and interest to work at all levels of the software stack.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools to build software, with judgment to evaluate and refine AI-generated output.

Nice To Haves

• Experience coding on a Unix OS platform.
