About The Position

Americo is hosting a paid, 10-week summer IT internship program designed to provide hands-on workplace experience and increase industry knowledge. Interns will work on special projects, shadow experienced team members, and interact with people across the company. The Software Development internship is on-site at Americo’s downtown Kansas City, Missouri office. Applicants must be able to reside in the Kansas City metro area from June through August 2027. The program does not provide sponsorship.

Requirements

• Currently studying an IT-related field, such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or Management Information Systems.
• Ability to organize work efficiently and manage time to meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; resourceful and able to solve problems creatively.
• Ability to work well in teams.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• General understanding of software development techniques.
• Legally able to work in the United States.
• Able to reside in the Kansas City metro area from June through August 2027.

Responsibilities

• Support the development team in writing and maintaining software.
• Contribute to software development projects and goals.
• Develop processes, tools, and templates.
• Assist project team members with support tasks.
• Conduct basic research and data collection.
• Maintain records, notes, and files related to specific projects.
• Assist in developing presentation materials and reports.
• Communicate, plan, and execute ideas and projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
