About The Position

The Software Development Engineer Intern will join Zillow Group’s nine-week summer internship program, which runs from June through August. Interns contribute to meaningful business work from day one, bringing ideas and perspectives to real projects alongside Zillow teams. The role offers hands-on experience, mentoring from fellow developers, and opportunities to connect with mentors and leaders and participate in learning and community experiences with the intern cohort.

Interns work on real problems and ship code, partnering with people who are passionate about Zillow’s products. They may work across multiple functional areas and all levels of the software stack, tackle sophisticated problems, and shape their career goals while collaborating with accomplished teammates. The 2027 internship is based in Seattle and follows a hybrid schedule, with interns generally working together in person Tuesday through Thursday. Eligible interns may receive a stipend to help offset summer housing relocation costs.

Requirements

• Currently working toward a BS or MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Strong coding knowledge; Java, Python, C++, JavaScript, and/or other languages are preferred.
• Ability to clearly articulate technical challenges and solutions.
• Ability and interest to work at all levels of the software stack.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools to build software, with judgment to evaluate and refine AI-generated output.

Nice To Haves

• Experience coding on a Unix OS platform.
