About The Position

AMD is seeking a specialized software engineer to improve the performance of key applications and benchmarks. The role is part of a core team working with current hardware and software technology. The successful candidate will bring a passion for software engineering, leadership to drive sophisticated issues to resolution, and the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across teams at AMD. The position involves working with architecture specialists, optimizing future products, developing AMD technologies, and participating in new ASIC and hardware bring-ups.

Requirements

• Strong programming skills; Python is preferred.
• Ability to write high-quality code with attention to detail.
• Experience building scalable automation, parallel data collection, and validation.
• Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with testing tools, test automation frameworks, and validation methodologies.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with software development processes and tools such as debuggers, source control systems (GitHub), and profilers.
• Experience or knowledge related to AI, GPUs, accelerators, CCL, or scale-out networking.

Responsibilities

• Work with AMD’s architecture specialists to improve future products.
• Apply a data-minded approach to target optimization efforts.
• Stay informed about software and hardware trends and innovations, especially those related to algorithms and architecture.
• Design and develop new AMD technologies.
• Participate in new ASIC and hardware bring-ups.
• Debug and fix existing issues, and research more efficient ways to accomplish the same work.
• Develop technical relationships with peers and partners.
