Software Development Engineer in Test

Integrated Home Care Services, Inc.•Miramar, FL

About The Position

Integrated Home Care Services (IHCS) is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test to establish and evolve automated quality engineering systems for MedTrac, the operational core of its coordinated home care benefits business. MedTrac has been in continuous production for more than two decades and processes operational work for patients every day. This is a founding role in the quality engineering function. The successful candidate will learn MedTrac hands-on, explore the application, map business-critical workflows with the people who use and build them, and develop a risk-based regression strategy. The role includes meaningful manual testing early on, with the goal of automating as much of that work as possible. The company plans to build automation on an agentic testing platform that uses AI to generate tests and help maintain them as the application changes. The platform has not yet been selected, and the role will contribute to its evaluation. The engineer will then build a regression suite for the CI pipeline and post-deployment smoke tests to verify every production release, helping shape quality engineering as the function grows.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in software testing or software development, including at least 3 years building and maintaining test automation.
  • Experience building a regression strategy or test suite for an existing application with limited documentation, starting from exploratory testing rather than a ready-made test plan.
  • Hands-on experience with modern UI automation frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language used for test automation.
  • Strong API testing skills with REST and/or SOAP, and SQL skills to validate results directly in a database.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or comparable platforms.
  • Hands-on use of AI-assisted testing or development tools, with a practical, evidence-based view of where they help and where they do not.
  • Clear written communication, including defect reports and test plans that can be understood without a follow-up meeting.

Nice To Haves

  • C# experience, given the .NET stack; TypeScript, Python, or Java are also welcome.
  • Experience evaluating or selecting testing tools or vendors, especially AI-driven or self-healing test platforms.
  • Experience testing Microsoft .NET web applications backed by SQL Server.
  • Experience creating synthetic or de-identified test data for complex relational data models.
  • Healthcare or other regulated-industry experience, including working around PHI or similar sensitive data.
  • Experience operating in a SOC 2 or HITRUST environment.
  • Familiarity with performance or load testing tools.

Responsibilities

  • Explore MedTrac and learn its business-critical workflows from the people who use and build the application.
  • Develop a risk-based regression strategy based on exploratory testing and application knowledge.
  • Perform manual testing initially and identify opportunities to automate it.
  • Help evaluate and select an agentic testing platform that uses AI to generate and maintain tests.
  • Build and maintain an automated regression suite that runs in the CI pipeline.
  • Develop post-deployment smoke tests to verify production releases.
  • Establish and evolve the company's quality engineering systems and practices.

  • Short- and long-term insurance.
  • 6+ days of holiday pay.
  • 17 days of PTO.
