Software Development Engineer in Test

EVOTECH•San Antonio, TX

About The Position

EvoTech is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to support application development efforts by improving software quality through test automation, CI/CD testing practices, validation, defect tracking, and technical collaboration with development teams. The role involves creating, maintaining, and improving automated tests that support reliable software delivery. Candidates must have prior professional experience working directly in an application development environment; candidates with no professional AppDev experience will not be considered. The SDET works with developers, product owners, business analysts, DevOps, QA stakeholders, and project leadership to improve release readiness, identify quality risks, and establish repeatable testing practices across applications, APIs, workflows, integrations, and backend services. Work may be on-site, hybrid, or remote based on business needs, contract requirements, and management discretion. Occasional overtime and minimal travel may be required. The role may involve extended computer use, application testing, automation development, defect analysis, technical documentation, collaboration sessions, and development or sprint-related meetings. EvoTech describes its culture as innovative, collaborative, people-first, and focused on continuous growth and professional development. The company says the role offers the opportunity to support application quality, improve release confidence, contribute to meaningful projects, and grow with the company.
