About The Position

Salesforce is seeking a technically strong, collaborative engineer for the AppExchange Go To Market App Quality Assurance Team. The team is building a platform that turns AppExchange into an integrated, transactable marketplace, enabling partners to sell and customers to purchase, deploy, and pay for solutions with less manual intervention. The platform aims to streamline purchasing and billing, scale efficiently, and support flexible pricing models, including consumption-based selling. The role is accountable for the quality of a distributed system spanning products and business units throughout the software delivery life cycle. The engineer owns end-to-end quality for complex or ambiguous features, develops a broad understanding of distributed architecture and team-owned functionality, and uses agile methods to plan and coordinate test plans. Work includes automated and hands-on testing, extracting user scenarios from customer conversations and data, and advising product teams. The role also contributes to quality foundations, cross-team collaboration, and continuous learning, and participates in an on-call rotation.

Requirements

A related technical degree is required.
At least 4 years of experience in software engineering, quality engineering, usability, or business analysis.
High proficiency in JavaScript and Java.
Experience with UI and backend automation.
Understanding of object-oriented programming.
Familiarity with industry quality and usability practices.
Proficiency in writing functional UI and API automation.
Hands-on experience using AI tools such as Cursor, Claude, or GitHub Copilot to accelerate test design, automation development, debugging, and documentation.
Ability to validate AI-generated code and tests for accuracy, coverage, and security using sound judgment.
Ability to learn quickly and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely and coordinate cross-team efforts.
Experience with agile development methodology.
Experience with developer tools such as Git, Maven, and Eclipse IDE.
Good understanding of relational databases and SQL.

Responsibilities

Master the Salesforce development process and codebase to improve it.
Participate in Test Design Review Board reviews for integration test plans within and across clouds, covering functional and business scenarios, high-impact projects, usability, and accessibility.
Master cloud requirements, including underlying technology stacks, business usage, and implementation.
Build end-to-end, cross-cloud integration automation for APIs and user interfaces across varied organizations.
Connect with customers to understand real-life usage and build test cases.
Execute testing with sophisticated organization setups and multifaceted data shapes.
Prioritize and drive cross-product testing.
Advocate for customer improvements.
Monitor product- and feature-level quality health metrics, including testability, test health, and test coverage.
Work with senior developers, product managers, and UX to ensure features meet business and quality requirements.
Evaluate and adopt AI-assisted testing approaches, such as generating test cases from requirements and analyzing test failures, and share effective practices with the scrum team.
Address production issues.
Participate in the team’s on-call rotation to resolve intricate problems in real time and keep services operational and highly available.
Build an automation technology foundation that guides engineering teams in building, executing, and owning tests across the testing pyramid.
Design and deliver automation and automation frameworks for products using a quality-focused approach.
Provide mentorship through code and design reviews for features delivered by other developers on the scrum team.
