About The Position

AMD, Inc. is hiring an SMTS Software Development Engineer to research, design, develop, and/or test operating systems-level software, compilers, and/or network distribution software for semiconductor operations. The role applies engineering principles and mathematical analysis to design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for enhancements and new products; understand and define software requirements and architectures; and develop software and tools supporting design, infrastructure, and technology platforms. These platforms may include operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases, and cloud-based and internet-related tools. The engineer will define proprietary platforms that include hardware and software components, and drive software and systems solutions, including development and product definitions. The role works with cross-functional teams, including engineers, on systems-level software and significant, unique issues requiring evaluation of intangibles. It also involves driving projects or processes of significant technical importance and exercising independent judgment to select methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria with little to no supervision. The engineer applies knowledge of computers and electronics, engineering science and technology, engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of AMD systems and products. This position can be performed remotely. Travel is not required.
