About The Position

The Softlines Associate is responsible for enhancing Members’ experience and driving sales by providing courteous, proactive support. The role keeps apparel and home areas well maintained, appealing, inviting, and ready for Members to shop. Associates provide Member-focused service, help Members locate and select merchandise, complete transactions, and maintain sales-floor presentation and organization.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Less than one year of related experience.
Basic reading, arithmetic, writing, and oral communication skills.
Basic Internet navigation skills.
Ability to work while standing for long periods.
Ability to lift and hold bulky or large merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to perform required physical movements, including reaching, stretching, grabbing, pushing, lifting, holding, twisting, bending, turning, walking, and shifting.
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Associates under 18 are prohibited from using freight elevators, ladders, compactors, balers, or hazardous or similar equipment, and from performing backroom functions.

Responsibilities

Take ownership of enhancing the Member experience throughout the store and at every touchpoint, making Members the first priority.
Demonstrate appropriate selling behaviors, identify Member needs, and recommend suitable solutions.
Understand the benefits of Shop Your Way, credit and leasing, warranties, and protection plans.
Greet Members professionally and engagingly, support a Member First experience, and assist with local execution of Shop Your Way initiatives.
Accurately and efficiently complete sales, returns, and exchanges using point-of-sale and online systems and authorized processes.
Help Members find products by walking them to store areas and assisting with merchandise selection.
Use Web to Store, Store to Home, and other integrated retail processes to enhance the shopping experience.
Set promotional, non-promotional, seasonal, store-wide, and event signage when assigned; complete promotional advertisement setup and takedown accurately.
Set and maintain the sales floor to national merchandising and presentation standards.
Assist store leadership in resolving or facilitating the resolution of Member issues.
Complete merchandise-support tasks during non-peak hours, including fitting-room maintenance and straightening merchandise.
Stay current on upcoming events, product updates, selling-process requirements, and company or business initiatives.
Adhere to merchandise-protection standards.
Keep the department ready throughout the day and ensure the sales floor is easy to shop, in stock, clean, signed, and organized for Members.
Perform other duties as assigned.
