Social Worker (LGSW/LICSW)- PICU
About The Position
Children’s Minnesota is seeking a full-time clinical social worker to provide care and services in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at its Minneapolis campus. The role is part of a highly skilled medical and multidisciplinary care team and supports families as they experience expected and unexpected health-related changes. The Social Work team emphasizes health equity and trauma-informed services for local families and those traveling for intensive care. The Social Work department provides emotional support and counseling to children and families, including crisis intervention, help with adjustment issues, grief and loss counseling, mental health assessments, case coordination, community advocacy support, and short-term therapeutic interventions.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in social work.
- Experience providing crisis intervention.
- Two years of counseling experience in a health care-related setting, or two years of experience in a pediatric-related setting, or completion of a graduate internship in either setting.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Ability to provide clear, thorough documentation of work.
Nice To Haves
- Minnesota State LGSW or LICSW license; LICSW is preferred.
