About The Position

The Social Worker will be a member of Samaritan Hospital’s interdisciplinary treatment team, working with adults with a wide range of psychiatric and substance abuse issues in the Emergency Department. Duties include individual and group therapy, treatment planning, case coordination, and community collaboration. This is a per-diem position with a rotating shift.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work.
• NYS LMSW or LCSW licensure.
• At least 1 year of experience in a medical, psychiatric, or health care setting.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat psychological, behavioral, and emotional disorders.
• Provide specialized skills and mental health therapy for clients.
• Identify barriers that impact optimal patient functioning.
• Ensure patients receive appropriate resources in the most appropriate setting.
• Provide individual therapy and group therapy.
• Participate in treatment planning, case coordination, and community collaboration.
