About The Position

The Social Worker will be a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team in the Emergency Department, working with adults who have a wide range of psychiatric and substance abuse issues. The role includes individual and group therapy, treatment planning, case coordination, and collaboration with community providers. The Social Worker diagnoses and treats psychological, behavioral, and emotional disorders; provides mental health therapy; identifies barriers to optimal patient functioning; and helps ensure patients receive appropriate resources in the appropriate setting.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Social Work.
• New York State LMSW or LCSW licensure.
• At least 1 year of experience in a medical, psychiatric, or health care setting.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat psychological, behavioral, and emotional disorders.
• Provide specialized skills and mental health therapy for clients.
• Identify barriers that affect optimal patient functioning.
• Ensure patients receive appropriate resources in the most appropriate setting.
• Provide individual therapy and group therapy.
