About The Position
VitalHire is hiring a travel Social Worker (MSW) for an acute care hospital in Mission Viejo, California. The assignment is 13 weeks, with a day schedule of five 8-hour shifts (8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.) and a start date of November 9, 2026. There are two openings. The caseload is 20–23 patients, and the worker may float to a nearby sister facility. First-time travelers are not accepted. The position follows a variable five-day workweek. Department operations occur seven days per week, so days off will vary and are not guaranteed to be consecutive. Weekly pay is $2,173. Eligible workers may receive a housing and meals stipend of up to $1,995 per week. Overtime is listed at 1.3% for hours beyond eight regular hours in a day or 40 regular hours in a week.
Requirements
- At least one full year of acute care experience is required.
- One to two years of recent MSW experience.
- MSW degree; state licensure as required.
- Active license or certification for California and the MSW specialty; compact credentials accepted where applicable.
- BLS certification if required.
- First-time travelers are not accepted.
