Requirements

  • BSW or MSW and registration with OCSWSSW, or Master’s in a related field with membership in the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in children’s mental health, including assessment and treatment planning, solution-focused/brief therapy, case management, crisis intervention, group and family therapy
  • Knowledge of DBT and CBT (required)
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with clients and families with complex needs (including anxiety, depression, and self-harm)
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; sound judgment and self-direction
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively on an interdisciplinary team
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle; ability to transport clients
  • Police Check including Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Single Session Therapy; knowledge of services in the Brantford/Brant community
  • Current First Aid/CPR and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification
  • Second language (French)

Responsibilities

  • Provide strength-based, collaborative mental health services for children, adolescents, and families (intake/choice, assessment, case management, individual/family counselling, urgent counselling, group counselling, and community education/presentations).
  • Complete assessments and develop individualized, goal-focused treatment plans in partnership with clients and caregivers; adjust plans as needs evolve.
  • Support families to identify needs, strengthen coping/parenting strategies, and connect with appropriate internal and community resources.
  • Provide timely support during periods of increased risk/safety concerns, following agency protocols and collaborating with relevant partners as needed.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and reports in accordance with Woodview policies/procedures and applicable standards.
  • Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and regular supervision; remain accessible and accountable to the multidisciplinary team and community partners.
  • Provide services in formats that meet client needs, which may include evening/weekend appointments, family sessions, and group work.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the role (written, verbal, and implied) and demonstrate sound judgment, self-direction, and professional boundaries.
