About The Position

Georgia Pines Community Service Board is a public, not-for-profit behavioral health and intellectual/developmental disabilities services organization serving six rural counties in South Georgia. The Social Worker, Licensed 1 position is part of the Colquitt County Mental Health Outpatient Program and supports the agency’s mission to provide high-quality, evidence-based services in the least restrictive settings. The role provides psychosocial support to individuals, families, and vulnerable populations coping with chronic, acute, or terminal illnesses and physical or developmental disabilities. The position is an integral part of the outpatient program and reports directly to the selected team lead, with latitude to use seasoned judgment in carrying out responsibilities. The employee is responsible for pursuing licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT. This is a full-time, unclassified, at-will position with benefits.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in social work and counseling from an accredited college or university.
• Eligibility to be licensed as an LPC, LCSW, or LMFT.

• A full, unrestricted professional license; preference is given to candidates who hold one.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychosocial support to individuals, families, and vulnerable populations coping with illness or physical or developmental disabilities.
• Provide patient education and counseling.
• Advise caregivers and make referrals for other social services.
• Complete biopsychosocial assessments.
• Collaborate with consumers to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
• Make appropriate referrals for needed services.
• Pursue licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT.
