About The Position
At the Carmen B. Pingree Autism Center of Learning, Social Service Workers support children with autism and their families through compassionate, relationship-centered care focused on safety, growth, and long-term success. This role combines therapeutic support, skill-building, behavior management, and collaboration to help children build coping, communication, social, and daily living skills in a structured and supportive environment. Social Service Workers work closely with interdisciplinary teams and families to ensure consistent care and meaningful progress for every child. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field
- Internship experience as required for SSW license
- SSW licensure in state of practice
- CPR certification
- Valley de-escalation certification
Responsibilities
- Provides therapeutic behavior management as prescribed by care plan
- Assists therapist as needed to develop and review safety/crisis plans and care plans
- Coordinates services among internal/external agencies and internal/external providers
- Follows care plan to monitor progress, teach skills, address behavioral concerns, and bill accordingly
- Ensures continuity of care
- Meets required productivity standards and other organizational expectations
