About The Position

Wag! Group Co. is seeking a Social Media Marketing Lead (or Sr. Manager) to manage and enhance the social media presence for both the Wag! and Maxbone brands. This senior individual contributor role involves setting strategy, driving execution, and serving as the internal social media expert for both brands. The ideal candidate will be proficient in mass-market consumer social media and premium lifestyle brand social media, capable of adapting voice, aesthetic, and strategy for diverse audiences while maintaining brand coherence.

Requirements

  • 4-8 years of social media marketing experience.
  • Proven track record of growing brand social accounts with measurable business impact.
  • Experience managing social for multiple brands or distinct audiences simultaneously (consumer + lifestyle or B2C + premium is a plus).
  • Deep platform expertise across Instagram, TikTok, and at least two other channels.
  • Strong creative eye: ability to write compelling copy, brief creative effectively, and understand what captures attention.
  • Data fluency: comfortable with native analytics and systems like Sprout Social / Dash Hudson / similar tools, and building performance reports.
  • Experience running influencer programs at scale, including negotiation and contracts.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills, able to work effectively with leadership and video editors.
  • Passion for pets is a genuine plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at a consumer marketplace or two-sided platform.
  • Experience with pet wellness and consumables.
  • Background in fashion, lifestyle, or premium consumer goods.
  • Working knowledge of paid social (Meta Ads, TikTok Ads).
  • Experience with UGC programs and community-led growth.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end social media strategy for Wag! and Maxbone across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms.
  • Develop distinct brand voices and content pillars for each brand that drive engagement, community growth, and conversion.
  • Partner with Brand, Growth, Product, and Creative teams to integrate social media into campaigns, product launches, and brand moments.
  • Build and own the content calendar, ensuring a consistent publishing cadence across both brands.
  • Define and track KPIs: follower growth, engagement rate, reach, UGC, share of voice, and social-attributed revenue.
  • Manage influencer and creator partnerships end-to-end: identification, outreach, briefing, and performance reporting.
  • Stay ahead of platform trends and algorithm shifts, proactively bringing new formats and opportunities to the team.
  • Oversee paid social strategy in partnership with the performance marketing team.
  • Report monthly to senior leadership on social performance, competitive landscape, and strategic recommendations.
