About The Position

McGrew Management Company is seeking a creative, hands-on, strategically minded, and highly accountable Social Media Manager to lead day-to-day social media strategy, channel management, and content production across all McGrew Management affiliates. This role will focus on used equipment demand, auction bidder activity, and enterprise brand visibility. It requires someone who is expected to be in the field regularly, at branches, auctions, customer sites, events, and job sites, capturing real content and turning business activity into compelling social and digital storytelling. The ideal candidate is an exceptional storyteller, self-starter, and relationship builder who can create high-quality content outside the office, train sales and operational team members to participate in content creation, and move work forward with urgency and ownership.

Requirements

  • Exceptional storytelling ability, with the ability to find and shape strong stories from real business activity.
  • Ability to use AI tools in a practical, brand-safe way to improve speed and output quality without sacrificing judgment.
  • Strong bias toward action, ownership and accountability and comfort working in a role that requires regular movement between locations and live business environments.
  • Strong strategic thinking around channel voice, audience resonance, and platform-specific content.
  • Strong video capture and editing skills using both desktop and mobile workflows.
  • Working knowledge of platform-specific best practices across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and other major social channels.
  • Ability to manage multiple brands, voices, and content streams at once.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, field-based environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build relationships across departments, branches, and business units.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfort directing others in content capture and helping non-marketers participate effectively in content creation.
  • Ability to identify opportunities in the field and act on them without waiting for highly detailed direction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Media, Public Relations, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in social media strategy, content production, digital storytelling, or related work.
  • Experience in dealership, equipment, industrial, agricultural, auction, logistics, agency, or in-house B2B content environments preferred.
  • Experience managing brand channels directly and building content calendars required.
  • Experience capturing and editing video content required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

  • Experience with HubSpot or another CRM connected to marketing activity.
  • Experience with Meta Business Suite and leading social media management tools such as Hootsuite, Buffer, or Sprout Social.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, and other mobile or desktop photo and video editing tools.
  • Experience with Google Analytics and social reporting tools.
  • Experience with project management platforms such as ClickUp, Wrike, or similar systems.
  • Experience working with influencers, employee advocates, or distributed content contributors.
  • Experience capturing testimonials, event content, and customer story content.
  • Experience building content in field, event, or live operational settings.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage social media strategy across McGrew Equipment Company, Crownstone Equipment, and Iron Road Logistics.
  • Own day-to-day management of all assigned social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, Google Business Profile posting, and other portfolio channels as assigned.
  • Establish and maintain a distinct brand voice for each account while ensuring alignment with broader company messaging and standards.
  • Build and manage content calendars that support business priorities, campaigns, events, auctions, location needs, and seasonal opportunities.
  • Regularly travel to company branches, auctions, customer sites, events, and job sites to capture content, identify stories, and stay close to the activity driving the business.
  • Plan, capture, edit, and publish short-form and mid-form video, photography, testimonial content, and behind-the-scenes storytelling.
  • Write captions, platform copy, post text, and basic video scripts that are aligned with each brand’s voice and goals.
  • Create and publish social content that supports used equipment demand, auction bidder activity, enterprise visibility, customer trust, testimonials, and event storytelling.
  • Monitor and manage community engagement across social channels, including comments, direct messages, and basic customer interaction routing.
  • Partner with the Vice President of Marketing to develop paid social creative assets, influencer concepts, campaign storylines, and channel-specific content priorities.
  • Work in conjunction with the Graphic Designer on graphics, visual packaging, templates, and campaign asset needs.
  • Coordinate and guide interns, employee contributors, and other internal content creators, including sales and service team members who may serve as on-site influencers or subject matter contributors.
  • Identify, brief, and help manage freelance creators and outside partners for overflow photography, video, and specialized content needs.
  • Support the development of an influencer and employee advocacy strategy across the portfolio.
  • Capture and organize testimonial content from customers, employees, and partners for social, website, and campaign use.
  • Operate with urgency around event-driven and time-sensitive business moments, especially auctions and other compressed promotional windows.
  • Track and report on channel performance, content performance, engagement quality, follower growth, traffic to the website from social channels, and content volume produced.
  • Use AI tools responsibly to accelerate content ideation, draft captioning, content repurposing, and brand consistency, while maintaining human review and final judgment.
  • Stay current on social platform trends, short-form storytelling approaches, creator best practices, AI-enabled workflows, and digital content opportunities relevant to the equipment, auction, dealership, and logistics sectors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
