Normal Computing Corporation•Mountain View, CA
•$140,000 - $215,000

About The Position

Normal Computing is hiring a hands-on, in-house individual contributor to build the company’s audience, attract technical talent, and tell a distinctive story about the future of AI computing. The role focuses on finding stories with researchers and engineers, creating original social content, and publishing it. Content should explain Normal’s hardware and technical ideas in ways that are compelling and accurate, helping audiences understand the company’s approach and consider joining the team. Reporting to the Head of Communications, the Social & Brand Content Lead owns ideas from concept through production, distribution, and iteration. The role works closely with research, engineering, design, editorial, and media-relations colleagues to build a sustained audience for Normal’s work. Day-to-day social production and audience growth are the primary focus, with additional work supporting selected events, campaigns, community relationships, and media opportunities.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience growing a relevant social audience through original content and sustained publishing; applicants should show the growth, timeframe, audience relevance, and their own creative, production, and distribution contributions.
  • Strong production skill in at least one area, such as video, writing, or design, and ability to take an idea through to finished work.
  • Ability to brief specialists, assess their work, and bring creative contributions together.
  • Strong familiarity with AI, technology, and internet culture, including relevant technical conversations, communities, and formats.
  • Good judgment about audiences and channels, a clear point of view, and attention to execution.
  • Ability to discuss AI research and hardware with technical colleagues, ask informed questions, and turn expert input into credible, engaging content without overstating it.
  • Ability to learn difficult technical material and make it useful to an audience.
  • A portfolio demonstrating original social content, sound format and audience judgment, and depth in at least one production craft; it should explain how work was developed, published, and improved and distinguish individual contributions from collaborators’ work.
  • Ability to lead creative projects, coordinate production partners, give useful feedback, and manage deadlines and budgets while protecting confidential information.
  • Willingness to travel for work-related filming, stories, conferences, and company-hosted experiences.

  • Capture moments in the lab and across the company, with appropriate technical review, to maintain an organic daily presence between major launches.
  • Own social-channel strategy, hands-on publishing, and audience growth, prioritizing X and audiences including engineers, researchers, and prospective colleagues.
  • Test channels, hooks, formats, cadence, and distribution; use performance data and audience feedback to improve content.
  • Originate and lead social and brand content campaigns from production through distribution and iteration.

  • Build relationships with developers, researchers, and community organizers through useful demos and conversations, and bring their questions back to the team.
  • Test interviews, podcasts, AMAs, and livestreams to grow and deepen Normal’s audience.
  • Develop creator collaborations and assess sponsorship and podcast opportunities based on audience fit, creative potential, cost, and likely impact; produce activations and use results to guide further investment.
  • Partner with the events team on social content for selected launches, conferences, and company-hosted events, contributing ideas and publishing content before, during, and after events.
  • Capture the CEO and other leaders at speaking engagements, including informal conversations and behind-the-scenes moments.
  • Partner with scientists, engineers, and leaders to extend the reach of their work through social stories and recruiting content, preserving their individual voices and creating simple ways for colleagues to contribute regularly.
  • Lead creative projects, coordinate production partners, provide useful feedback, manage deadlines and budgets, and keep confidential information secure.
  • Travel for lab and product filming, customer and partner stories, conferences, and Normal-hosted experiences.
