Soccer Instructor/Official
About The Position
i9 Sports Greater Phoenix is hiring energetic, personable, and hardworking Soccer Instructors to help fulfill its goal of “Helping Kids Succeed in Life through Sports.” Instructors help build soccer fundamentals and teach the game in an enjoyable way while creating a safe and fun environment for participants ages 3–14. The position is needed on Saturdays and/or Sundays during the Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer seasons, for up to 4–6 hours depending on the number of registrants. Hours vary by location. Compensation is based on experience. Instructors create and facilitate weekly practice plans and assist with officiating games for all age groups.
Requirements
- Be reliable, professional, and responsive.
- Be outgoing, friendly, energetic, and enthusiastic.
- Be warm, empathetic, patient, and consistent.
- Have in-depth knowledge of soccer and at least one year of coaching experience.
- Have superior customer service skills.
- Have reliable transportation, preferably a truck or SUV, a cell phone, and web/email access.
- Pass a background check.
- Be willing to work in Glendale, North Phoenix, North Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Avondale, Tempe, or Ahwatukee.
Responsibilities
- Assist with setting up and taking down venue fields, including putting up goals and corner flags and laying out cones.
- Organize, plan, and run practices and games for a specific team and/or group of teams or players.
- Communicate weekly with volunteer coaches, participants, and league owners.
- Assist with officiating and coaching games.
- Teach soccer skills and sportsmanship values while ensuring a fun program for participants.
- Work with Assistant Coaches on drills.
