About The Position

As part of Apple’s Silicon Technologies group, the SoC Level Validation Engineer helps design and manufacture next-generation, high-performance, power-efficient processors and systems-on-chip. The role contributes to delivering high-quality functional products by finding corner-case hardware bugs in Apple Silicon. The team uses a bare-metal system-level software suite, running mostly post-silicon and leveraging pre-silicon validation, to exercise the SoC under demanding conditions, including running workloads concurrently, powering down blocks, and testing new features. Apple is hiring at all levels, from junior to senior.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. in electrical engineering or computer science.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of SoCs and CPUs, including microarchitecture, memory hierarchy, interrupts and DMA, clock and power gating, and system-level concepts.
  • Experience with SoC bring-up.
  • C/C++ and assembly-language programming experience.
  • Knowledge of hardware and software debugging tools and methods.
  • Experience with embedded programming and understanding of hardware-software interfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Develop directed and random tests for SoCs and CPUs.
  • Debug issues in pre-silicon or post-silicon environments.
  • Develop and maintain a system-level software platform.
  • Work with designers and architects to accomplish validation goals.
