About The Position

As part of Apple’s Silicon Technologies group, the SoC Design and Integration Engineer helps design and manufacture next-generation, high-performance, power-efficient processors and systems-on-chip. The role contributes to SoC design and integration, with a critical impact on delivering functional products to customers. Responsibilities span multiple aspects of SoC design, including writing microarchitecture and design specifications, designing and debugging complex logic, integrating complex IPs into the SoC, and supporting front-end integration activities. The engineer works with SoC design, design verification, emulation, formal verification, static timing analysis, and physical design teams, and collaborates with software and systems teams to help ensure a high-quality end product.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience.
  • Hands-on experience in all aspects of the chip development process, with proficiency in front-end tools and methodologies.
  • Experience writing specifications and converting them into designs.
  • Experience with multiple clock domains and asynchronous interfaces.
  • Experience with AMBA Fabric architecture, including AXI, AHB, and APB.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with formal verification techniques.
  • Experience or knowledge of system architecture, CPU and IP integration, and power and clock management designs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across internal groups.
  • Familiarity with software and operating concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Write microarchitecture and/or design specifications.
  • Design, implement, and debug complex logic designs.
  • Integrate complex IPs into the SoC.
  • Support front-end integration activities, including Lint, CDC, Synthesis, and ECO.
  • Work with SoC Design, SoC Design Verification, Emulation, Formal Verification, STA, and Physical Design teams.
