About The Position

Buff City Soap is hiring a seasonal, part-time Soap Maker / Retail Associate. The position typically runs through late December and combines product production with retail customer service in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. The associate engages with customers, builds relationships, understands their needs, recommends products, and works toward minimum sales requirements while helping make products and maintain a clean Makery. The role may require working independently during a shift when business needs require it.

Requirements

Basic computer skills and knowledge.
Ability to provide professional customer service and engage with clients to understand and meet their needs.
Ability to recommend products and maintain minimum sales requirements.
Ability to multitask between product production and customer engagement.
Ability to work effectively with a team in a fast-paced environment while following company policies and procedures.
Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
Must not be sensitive to various scents and fragrances.
Manual dexterity of hands and fingers.
Ability to lift or assist in lifting items and heavy boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to walk, reach, climb, balance, twist, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
Ability to work independently and alone during shifts as business needs require.

Responsibilities

Provide professional, excellent customer service and ensure clients’ needs are met.
Engage with clients, build relationships, understand their needs, and make product recommendations.
Meet minimum sales requirements.
Balance product production with engaging customers as they arrive and leave.
Help maintain cleanliness in production and retail areas.
Work cohesively with the team in an upbeat, fast-paced environment and follow company policies and procedures.
Perform Makery cleaning functions, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.
