About The Position

This seasonal position operates heavy equipment to create and maintain a world-class product for guest enjoyment. The role begins in the snowmaking department during the snow production season and transitions to the grooming department for the remainder of the ski season.

Requirements

• Valid, non-restricted motor vehicle driver’s license
• Reliable transportation to/from work

Nice To Haves

• Minimum 2 years of snowmaking experience
• Minimum 1 year of snow grooming experience
• Snowmobile operator experience

Responsibilities

• Perform pre and post-operational checks of snowcats and other equipment.
• Transport fan guns and other snowmaking equipment with a snowcat, preventing damage.
• Build snow platforms for staging snowmaking equipment.
• Keep fan guns clear of snow and on top of the snow surface.
• Maintain safe travel routes for snowmaking crews.
• Dozing snowmaking piles as necessary.
• Work with snowmaking crews to set up trails with hoses/guns.
• Assist with the operation of snowmaking equipment.
• Track pack trails prior to snowmaking production.
• Perform other snowmaking duties as assigned.
• Perform pre-operational checks of grooming equipment and address maintenance issues.
• Participate in nightly grooming meetings.
• Understand nightly snow management objectives.
• Complete dozing and grooming of assigned trails.
• Repair/communicate trail issues such as rocks or thin spots.
• Complete other snowcat projects as assigned.
• Fuel equipment using safe practices.
• Perform post-operational checks of machines, clean off snow, and clean the cab.
• Communicate equipment issues with heavy equipment mechanics.
