About The Position

Copper Mountain Resort is seeking a Snowmaking Level 1 for the Winter 26/27 season. This seasonal position is responsible for carrying out assignments from the crew foreman, including making quality snow in the highest volumes possible, understanding the snowmaking system's operations and maintenance, and operating and maintaining department equipment and tools. The role involves working 12-hour shifts in a challenging outdoor environment and requires close communication with the foreman and controller, as well as performing necessary record keeping. The position also requires an understanding of how the snowmaking system works and how its components interface. Safety is paramount, especially concerning high voltage dangers. The snowmaker must operate all equipment, including snow guns, snow cats, and snowmobiles, safely and responsibly according to company and department procedures. Maintenance projects may also be assigned. This role functions as an ambassador of Copper Mountain, modeling the Copper “culture” and striving to exceed guest expectations.

Requirements

Able to perform in severe or inclement outdoor conditions for sustained periods.
Able to lift 75 lbs.
High School or equivalent
Must have a valid US Driver’s license
Proficient skier/rider
Must be at least 18 years old

Nice To Haves

Good physical condition
Snowmobile certification
Mechanical aptitude
Snowmaking experience preferred (1-2 years)

Responsibilities

Follow foreman’s direction in order to carry out the shift flight plan.
Perform all tasks involved with snowmaking in a safe, conscientious and production-minded manner.
Maintain close communication with foreman and controller.
Perform all necessary record keeping.
Perform operation of all equipment, snow guns, snow cats, snowmobiles, and all system components in a safe and responsible manner according to company and department procedures.
Perform maintenance projects as assigned.
