About The Position

The Snow Removal Technician works independently or as a team member under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Director. The role involves de-icing and clearing snow from walks, driveways, and parking lots at residential and commercial properties throughout Hartford, Connecticut, according to specified contracts. This is a weather-dependent seasonal position with no guaranteed hours. Work may involve long hours at any time of day and any day of the week, with potential holiday work, although holiday work is rare. The position is non-exempt.

Requirements

• Reliable transportation to job sites.
• Strong time-management skills.
• Availability for seasonal long hours and a clear schedule to work all hours of the day, any day of the week.
• Strong work ethic; punctuality, dependability, and a can-do attitude.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals of differing backgrounds, knowledge, and skill levels.
• Ability to perform the stated physical demands, including lifting or moving 50 to over 100 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather and around equipment, machinery, electrical energy, and construction tools.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Maintenance Director to de-ice and remove snow from walks, driveways, and parking lots according to contract requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe job site and avoid damaging landscaping or property while removing snow.
• Maintain and care for personal or company-provided equipment, tools, and vehicles.
• Safely distribute de-icing solutions, including calcium chloride or rock salt.
• Perform physical outdoor work in all weather conditions, particularly cold, icy, and snowy weather.
• Work as part of a team and follow direction.
• Meet contract deadlines while maintaining customer service and work quality.
• Keep accurate timesheet records.
• Attend training classes and seminars as requested by management.
• Perform other tasks or projects as assigned or instructed by the Maintenance Director.
