About The Position
The Seasonal Caretaker provides flexible assistance across the community to help keep the property clean, safe, and well-maintained throughout the year or seasonally, based on property needs. Duties may vary according to those needs and can include snow removal, grounds and common-area upkeep, pool support, cleaning, and light maintenance. The role requires flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and response to urgent or emergency property needs. It involves physically demanding work indoors and outdoors, including work in varying and inclement weather. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. Valley Village Apartments is a 112-unit community in Golden Valley, Minnesota, and emphasizes responsive, courteous service to residents through its Platinum Service® program.
Requirements
- Dependability and ability to follow a consistent schedule.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and sense of responsibility.
- Positive attitude and willingness to support team needs.
- Ability to perform manual labor, including shoveling snow, lifting and carrying materials, and completing physically demanding tasks.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely and effectively operate basic maintenance and snow removal equipment.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme cold, heat, and precipitation.
- Ability to execute tasks independently and communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Proficient computer literacy.
- Availability for flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and work on any day, including weekends and holidays, as necessary.
- Ability to respond promptly when contacted about immediate property needs or emergencies.
- Ability to work more than 40 hours per week and be subject to callback during emergency conditions.

Responsibilities
- Assist with snow removal and shoveling during winter months.
- Support pool operations, including opening, closing, and general oversight during summer months.
- Perform grounds maintenance, including trash pickup, light landscaping, and common-area upkeep.
- Assist with cleaning common areas and community amenities.
- Support assigned light maintenance tasks.
- Monitor property conditions and report safety or maintenance concerns to the management office.
- Assist with additional operational tasks as needed to support property performance.
- Provide courteous, responsive, and quality service to residents in accordance with the Platinum Service® program.
- Follow community policies and procedures and applicable fair housing laws.
- Respond to urgent or time-sensitive property needs, including snow removal, safety concerns, weather-related events, and emergencies.
