About The Position

As an on-call snow removal employee, you will promptly and efficiently remove snow after snowfall to help ensure the safety of pedestrians and vehicles. You will remain on standby during the winter months and be called upon as needed to shovel, plow, and salt designated areas. The role requires availability during specified hours and quick responses to snow or ice, including during early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Work takes place outdoors in cold and adverse weather and involves physical manual labor.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and auto insurance.
• Willingness to submit to a background check and drug screen.
• Availability on notice in the event of snow or ice.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform manual labor for extended periods.
• Tolerance for working in cold and adverse weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Clear snow from sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and other assigned areas using shovels, snow blowers, and plows.
• Apply salt, sand, or other materials to icy surfaces to prevent slips and accidents.
• Remain available on-call during specified hours, particularly after snowfalls and during icy conditions.
• Respond quickly to snow-removal calls, often during early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
