SMTS Systems Design Engineer

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc•Austin, TX

About The Position

AMD, Inc. is hiring an SMTS Systems Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing. The role applies knowledge of electronic theory to design complete, complex frameworks, systems, or products; define technical platform processes and system specifications; establish hardware and/or software compatibility parameters; and conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes. The engineer identifies, analyzes, and resolves system design weaknesses; contributes to architectures used across multiple products or systems; and provides technical expertise for next-generation initiatives. The role evaluates process flows from high-level designs through synthesis, place and route, timing, and power use. It involves problems of moderate scope requiring review of varied factors, driving technically significant projects or processes, and exercising independent judgment within defined company procedures. The engineer applies knowledge of computers, electronics, engineering principles, design techniques, tools, and technologies to AMD product design, development, and testing. Travel is not required.
