About The Position

Cape Heritage Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is seeking a compassionate Smoking Attendant to provide residents with a clean and orderly smoking environment while ensuring their safety and comfort. This is a full-time position on a 9 a.m.–5 p.m. shift, paying $18 per hour with weekly pay. On-the-job training is provided. The position is based at 37 MA-6A, Sandwich, Massachusetts. The facility requires staff to be up to date with COVID and flu vaccinations or acknowledge a declination of the vaccination(s).

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Ability to make independent decisions and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, and visitors.
Patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, enthusiasm, and willingness to handle difficult residents.
Staff must be up to date with COVID and flu vaccinations or acknowledge a declination of the vaccination(s).

Nice To Haves

CNA license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with smoking, including lighting materials and transporting them to and from the designated smoking area.
Maintain a clean designated smoking area for residents.
Ensure residents’ safety while transporting them to and from the smoking area.
Demonstrate correct safety techniques and respect for facility equipment and supplies.
Contribute to effective communication and pleasant working conditions.
